There are a wealth of social, cultural and non-profit organizations in Chiang Mai that enrich and improve the lives of both the expat and local community. Chiang Mai Expats Club (CEC) is proud to be sponsored by several well-known, active community-service organizations. As such, CEC helps these organizations publicize their events and activities to the members of CEC. Sponsors are responsible for the legality of the products, services and activities they provide. CEC assumes no responsibility for any activities of the sponsors, nor are the sponsors acting on behalf of CEC.

Foundation for the Education of Rural Children
Description

The Foundation for the Education of Rural Children (FERC) performs one important task. We provide scholarships for senior high school students who could not continue their education without financial support. FERC is a registered Thai Charitable Foundation and we work closely with the local Education Zone office.

FERC operates with zero administration costs – every baht we receive goes out in a scholarship. FERC members bear all operating costs

A FERC scholarship can be truly transformative. Often, our scholarship students are the first in their family or village to have completed their secondary education. Most go on to further studies at university or vocational institutes. FERC scholarships change lives.
