Visas for staying in Thailand

There are many different types of visa, along with the different requirements that go with them. General information can be found on the Thai immigration website, http://www.immigration.go.th (English and Thai), Chiang Mai Immigration website, http://www.ch-imm.com/news.php (available only in Thai), or any Thai embassy or consulate. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs at http://www.thaiembassy.org/ also has information whilst the latest updates and explanations about the new regulations can be followed in the Expat Newsletter.

Looking for correct and reliable information from these websites is time consuming and can be frustrating, often leading to confusion. For anyone who feels they are unsure as to which visa to apply for and how to actually apply for it, the club has a legal advisor, Mr. Jaroonroat Krasaesuk (TOM), who is familiar with all visa regulations and also spends quite a lot of time working in immigration.
