Cultural and Social Events in Chiangmai
Don't you think it is difficult to find what is going on in Chiang Mai?
Do you usually find out too late?
For this reason we collect information about events in Chiang Mai. Usually cultural events like concerts, plays and exhibitions. You won't find information about general festivals or sporting events.
If you want to post an event on our site, please send an email to Chiangmai Expats Club with:
- The name of the event
- The date
- The location
- Entrance fee (if any)
- And a short description of the event.
Please use text only -- no pictures or other file attachments -- when describing your event. Thank you.
Forthcoming events:
Chiang Mai Sunday Bicycling Club
Wednesday, November 26, 2008
We meet every Sunday at 7am at Tha Pae Gate. Some rides are short, some are long, and details (schedule, photos, etc.) are at http://www.chinarice.org/chiang-mai-sunday-bicycling-club.html. Y'all come!
Free Cats and Kittens
Wednesday, November 26, 2008
The cat sanctuary at Wat Pa Pao needs your help.
Khun Dee, who isn't a monk, has about two dozen cats/kittens. If you'd like to take home one or more, please do. They're quite placid. The 10-year-old "mini-monks" grab them under their arms and haul them all over, dangling, and they don't care.
Please donate food and/or flea treatment either directly to the Wat, to any branch of Gecko Books, or to Tuskers Bar and Grill. If you wish to donate cash to the spay/neuter/vaccination fund, you can do that at either Gecko or Tuskers.
If you'd like to give the kitties some cuddles, I know they'd love it, and so will you. You can do that at the Wat. :-)
Many thanks!
Wat Pa Pao 58 Maneenopparat Road Sriphoom Sub-District Muang District, Chiang Mai 053-418-046
The Wat is along the north road around the moat, just before you hit the northeast corner, along the outside of the old city. Once you go inside, turn left at the food stall and go on back. The cats live in the temple building on your right, in the back, and you should see a few because they sleep everywhere. There are 20 or so and they love visitors.
